Whydo we carry out inspections?

TheNordic Swan Ecolabel and the EU Ecolabel are marketing tools that helpconsumers and businesses to choose the most environmentally-friendly productsand services. Therefore the ecolabelling criteria must be complied with, andthe labels must not be abused. Companies which have been awarded an ecolabellicence must comply with the rules governing the use of the ecolabel, whilecompanies which do not have a licence must not use the Nordic Swan Ecolabel orthe EU Ecolabel in their marketing. It is for these reasons that EcolabellingDenmark surveys the market and conducts regular inspections.

Oncea year, Ecolabelling Denmark publishes an inspection report that describes theongoing inspections of ecolabelled products. More precisely, the work involves:

• inspectingthe extent to which licensed products or services comply with the requirementsin the criteria for the product group in question

Thelatter type of inspection is carried out by Ecolabelling Denmark and comprisesboth surveillance of companies which have been given the right (i.e. obtained alicence) to use one of the ecolabels and of how retailers and otherdistributors use the ecolabels in their marketing materials etc.

后者的检查是由丹麦生态标签公司进行的，既包括对已获得使用某一种生态标签的权利（即获得许可）的公司的监督，也包括对零售商和其他分销商如何在其营销材料中使用该生态标志的监督。
